Chip is a character model and rig I created while attending The Art Institute of Portland. He has been used by students and professionals from all over the world. To date (7/29/09) he has been downloaded over 30,000 times from highend3d.com. At SIGGRAPH 2007 he was one of the few characters chosen to be used in its popular FJORG! animation competition. If you scroll to the right you will be able to view a video documentary about this event and see Chip in action.
In brief, the FJORG! competition is a 32 hour compeition where teams of animators attempt to create a fully fleshed out short animation. They are provided with a couple character rigs to choose from and are given a theme for their animation. In the 32 hours the groups must create a story based off of a theme, storyboard the story, and then animate it. At the end of the 32 hours the animators show off their animations regardless of how finished they are.
